HPNoSS (Hospital Project on Noise, Sound and Sleep)

Interdisciplinary Research Project

HPNoSS is a research project which seeks to provide a holistic understanding of sound in the hospital environment and the intimate relationship of noise to sleep, rest, treatment and recovery. This video documents a workshop and symposium held in September 2017 as part of the first phase of this ongoing interdisciplinary project, which was supported by seed funding from the King's Cultural Fund.

The HPNoSS team consisted of Angus Carlyle (Professor of Sound and Landscape), Jamie Macrill (freelance researcher), Anne Marie Rafferty (Professor of Nursing Policy), and John Wynne (Professor of Sound Art).  See King's College London for further information on the project.
